First Tire Friday Night

I was excited last week, to do three tires, for a friend, Tuesday. Even better, Friday night I got a call from a friend who needed a new tire for a track day Sunday. It took a whole 30 minutes once he got to my house to get it done. Went on very easy, I love that tire machine!! He even brought steaks and beer for the short notice, and that was a wonderful surprise! Have three more on the docket this week, and two of my own in a couple weeks.

Suzuki DRZ 400 Valve Adjustment

In researching how to check the valves on my drz these are the best resources that I have found:

1. Blue Loctite! Saves tons of heartache and time later on the trail.
2. Get your shims from your local dealer, call and check first though, my guy in Leavenworth will trade me for 2.00 per shim and if he is feeling nice for free. There is no reason to buy the expensive shim kit that I can come up with.

The procedure iss very manageable and saves more than a few bucks if you do it yourself. Not to mention how rewarding it is to work on your own motorcycle. There is nothing like knowing that the job was done well and that you took care of business yourself.
